Hello,
I have a Linux VM (RHEL 5.9) running on a Macbook (El Capitan) using VMware Fusion. (8.0.2)
The Ip address of the vm is 10.100.100.181 ( Static Ip address on eth0 and i cannot change this due to some application dependencies ) and the Ip address of the wired network interface of the macbook is 10.100.100.3. (en7)
This Macbook is directly connected to a Cisco switch with an interface Ip of 10.100.100.2.
The switch is connected to two Cisco Routers on the 10.100.100.0/24 subnet.
Questions:
1) What is the right config for the VM (.181) to reach the 10.100.100.2 Ip address of the Cisco switch? I am not able to ping the 10.100.100.2 ip address of the switch from the VM ( .181). I am able to ping the 10.100.100.2 Ip address of the switch from the Mac ( 10.100.100.3) obviously.
2) What should the mode of networking on Vmware fusion for the VM network interface so that the VM (.181) can ping the Cisco switch (.2) successfully.
Any help much appreciated,
Thank you
