I'm having a heck of time upgrading from VCSA 5.5 to VCSA 6.0 U1. I'm following the walkthrough here: Product Walkthroughs
First attempt, I had an error at step 'Connect to source appliance'. I thought I knew my administrator@vsphere.local password but it wouldn't accept it so I reset it and started again. I had always used the root account to login successfully.
Second attempt, I had some errors about the SSL certificates so I regenerated them as suggested.
Third attempt, I had an error during the appliance deployment that says 'Migration Failed' and 'Error attempting Backup PBM. Please check InvSvc upgrade logs for details'.
I followed the advice here: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=2127574
which says to reset the VCSA inventory service database. So I did that.
Fourth attempt gives me the same error I received in my 3rd attempt. Any suggestions?
I have a tiny environment with 3 hosts and 12 vms. Couldn't I just blow away my 5.5 appliance, deploy a 6.0 appliance and let it re-inventory everything?
TIA
