Re: vSphere 6.0 FT protected VM - backup via VADP - HOW?

Hi gs_khalsa, thanks for this clarification, however I am finding conflicting info on the KB pages and would appreciate if you could provide further insight on this:

The API reference also refers to "Disk-only snapshots", and this page for example states that "Storage snapshotting is a feature provided by the backend storage array and is different than VMware ESX snapshots.

I have tested this and the SDK call to "CreateSnapshot_Task" and it fails on FT machines, even with VMware vSphere WS SDK toolkit 6.0, saying that this operation is not supported etc..

So my question would be... Is there some VADP call that can take the mentioned "disk-only storage snapshots" or is does this refer to storage snapshots that must be provided by the storage hardware vendor?
