Very slow internet on virtual machines

Hi,

I have a simple set up in a data center.

1 Host (HP DL380 Gen 9)

ESXI 6 installed to  micro sd in the server

a bank of disk in a RAID 5

I have a windows 2012 STD R2 server installed as a Virtual Server

All connected to a GB managed switch

Then to a DrayTek 2925 to a internet feed from the Data Center.

All seems ok. However the internet speed is unusable. ie it will not even load the BBC web site or a speed test site.

I have come back to the data center to test and my laptop gets very good internet access when plugged  into the same switch.

I have put in a win 7 pc into the VMWare server to test and this is also very slow.

I have tried using different physical NIC in the server no change

I have tried using different logical Nic's on the virtual server no change.

I have now teemed all 4 nics to the virtual switch no change.

I have tried the different Ethernet cables.

Uploading files from my laptop to the Data Store seems ok locally

When I was remote in order to install Veeam i have to down load to my local PC and then then copy and paste into a RDP session to the sever in the DC.

DRPing to the server remotely the server is fine except for browsing and downloading etc.

Help I can see what is wrong.

I am by no means a VMWare expert so please be as patronizing as you like.
