Forgot to include that my virtual machine is Windows 8.1 w/update 1.
Today I resumed my Win 8.1 virtual machine and was prompted to run setup.exe from the VMware Tools. I did that and chose to 'Repair' the Tools and it seemed to complete ok. However when I double click the VMware Tools icon in the hidden task bar icon there are no functions present, such as to shrink the VM's disk.
Why no functions present?
