I just purchased new laptops for a couple family members. These are HP ENVY i7 laptops, running Windows 10 Home, touch screen, and 8GB RAM.
I always make a copy of the laptop using VMWare vCenter Convertor Standalone. I did that on these new laptops and when I try to open the VM using Workstation Player 12 on a different computer to verify the conversion worked, I get the following.
- The VM starts up and loads to the Windows 10 Home screen
- I click the mouse in the middle of the page and the prompt to enter password displays.
- I try to type my password and the keyboard on the laptop does not work.
- I also tried setting up a bluetooth keyboard on the host Windows 10 Home before doing the convert just to have a 2nd keyboard option
- This did not work either
I have not had this problem before with other conversions and looking for someone with some ideas of what is causing the problem or how to resolve it.
