Re: iSCSI Adapter doesn't detect new Devices/Paths after Rescan

Hi Marco,

Thanks for your response, I configured the iSCSI adapter as you recommended but the problem persists, actually after restarting one of the FC630 I lost a path that from one of the LUN/Datastore configured previously, I had to do several re-scans and even reboot again the FC630 to recover the paths, it's a very strange behavior.

At the moment I'm working on a Cluster configured with only two FC630 Nodes, each one is using two of their PCI-e Cards for the vswitch0, then I added two vmkernel Networks to use the iSCSI binding, each one only uses one adapter, at this point everything works fine, if I create a VM in the local Datastore of the FC630 I don't have any issues, I can disconnect one Network cable and the VM still works fine, problem comes when trying to add new Datastores that are presented from the PS6210.

I made a test in an independent Node with the same version of ESXi and two VMKernel for iSCSI, after configuring the iSCSI adapter with the settings you recommended and rebooted the Node I created a new Volume on the EQ and added the iSCSI Initiator from said Node, then I made a new re-scan on the iSCSI adapter and for the Datastore/Storage Devices but no new paths were detected, the task itself finished again quickly and without errors but I´m still struggling with this problem

With the different tests I've made during the day I've noticed that in the very few occasions that a re-scan detects something new it only shows one of the paths when it should be two, for example I have iSCSI adapters that have 4 Devices and only 7 Paths, as I'm using two VMKernels for the Storage connection I should have 8 paths, the missing path sometimes appear after several re-scans, a reboot or just by letting pass a couple of hours.

I'm gonna test connecting one LUN from the old PS6100 and see if I got the same behavior, maybe is an issue with the PS6210, hope I can get some new ideas about how to solve this problem.

Thanks and regards!
